Description
The emeg technology of robotics presents novel legal questions and this course will examine some of those. The course bs with an overview of robotics, ethics and then follows with a survey of the governance of robotics. Specific areas of robotics law which have emerged are explored, like telepresence, drones and autonomous cars. Then we examine the regulation of robotics by the agencies, the Federal Aviation Administration and NHTSA of the Department of Transportation. A novel issue which has some potential for future applications is the question of whether humans can marry their robot --- one professor's theory may surprise you.
