Do you want to create a seamless repeat pattern but you have no idea where to begin? And, perhaps like me, you can't draw? Then this class is for you!

This class will guide you through how to create a seamless repeat pattern on your iPad using only one free app, Photoshop Mix. You'll also use free clipart and your trusty finger. You don't even need an Apple Pencil or an iPad pro! Any iPad will do.

This class is designed for the beginner who doesn't have any experience with creating repeat patterns and for those who wish to create fun and simple patterns using ready-made images.

This class will guide you through:


Installing Photoshop Mix

Downloading clip art that is royalty-free and in the public domain (free to use)

Checking that your clipart has a transparent background and removing backgrounds if necessary

Arranging your clip art to create a pleasing pattern

Creating a seamless repeating tile

Tiling your pattern to create wallpaper for your iPad's home screen or lock screen

Uploading your design so that it can be printed on a T-shirt


To complete this class, you will need an iPad, Photoshop Mix, and access to a web browser and the internet.

Your class project is to make a seamless repeat pattern using public domain and royalty-free clip art and saving it as your iPad's lock screen or home screen. I have included a bonus lesson where I show you how to have your design printed on a T-shirt. :)

At the end of this class, you will have a fun repeat pattern that you can use in any number of ways:


printing it on a card (hmm. making thank you cards sounds fun!)

having your design made into a phone case

using it to make a child's birthday card invitation

or any other creative idea that you can come up with.


You will also have the skills and resources to make more repeat patterns with any of your artwork or other images that are in the public domain.
