Welcome to the SD-WAN Mastery Collection - Bringing Up the Control Plane Devices (For Customers) v1.0 (P-SDW-CTRPLN) Cisco® Training on Demand course. This course is for anyone who needs to understand how the control plane devices communicate with each other or is considering building out the control plane devices including vManage, the vBond orchestrator and the vSmart controllers.
Although most SD-WAN deployments use Cisco® Cloud services to provision these devices, customers and partners have the option of setting up the control plane in their own environments. This course explores the details of the control plane bring up process and two available methods for bringing up the control plane: NSO using the SD-WAN Core Function Pack and bonus material on bringing up the control plane on a UCS server.
With the NSO option, you hear from the software development team about the NSO options and see a demonstration of NSO and the SD-WAN Core Function Pak in action. The purpose of the NSO discussion is to show you what is possible and what is required for using NSO in a lab or production environment. The second topic relates to the UCS server, and includes a discussion and demonstration of setting up the control plane in a lab or demonstration environment on a UCS server. This series of videos were created by our Cisco® Advanced Services team and demonstrates in a detailed, step-by-step manner how to build out each control plane device on the UCS server.
The format in this video collection varies. Some of the lessons are taught by subject matter experts and panelists who contribute to the lectures with questions, and others are desktop recordings. After spending time with these subject matter experts, you should be able to describe how the control plane operates, select a bring up method that best fits your needs, and, if needed, deploy the control plane on a UCS server.

Describe the order in which the vBond orchestrator, vManage and vSmart controllers come online and how they recognize and communicate with each other
Describe the NSO SD-WAN Core Function Pak architecture and device onboarding process
List the NSO installation and set-up requirements
