The software developer Valentin Software GmbH announced the launch of PV*SOL Premium 2021 R8 is a dynamic simulation program with 3D visualization and detailed shading analysis for the calculation of photovoltaic systems in combination with appliances, battery systems and electric vehicles.

The following new features and changes are included:
- Up-to-date offline database.
- Autosave files now contain machine name hash to avoid OneDrive conflicts.
- Improved saving of *.ini files for use with OneDrive or Dropbox shared folders.
The following bugs have been fixed:
- 3D:
. Problems when loading project files from older program versions.
. Tilted modules that were oriented differently on a flat roof were recognized as a single module surface with the same orientation.
- Excessive mismatch losses in the energy balance when using DC generator coupled battery storages on inverters whose number was greater than one.
- Error in the calculation of savings when using a from-grid tariff with tariff zones.
- Bugfix for saving and loading projects with power optimizers in different versions.
- Error in the translations.
