Please note: This is a beginners class, and I use a book with gorgeous illustrations by Alice Patulo, to show a beginner how you might practice painting any subject by looking at pictures/photos. Please customise your own butterflies if you want to use them for anything other than sketchbook practice.

In this beginner level class, I walk you through my four step process for painting more detailed subjects. I chose butterflies for us to paint because they're colourful, fun and you can really just play around a lot without getting it "wrong".

It's a fun and easy class, and specifically aimed at helping beginner artists to tackle a detailed subject. Once you've made your butterflies and moths, you can use your paintings to create surface pattern designs, wrapping paper, fabric etc. (Please don't use your paintings for commercial use if you're using someone else's images for your practice. If you want to use your images for commercial design please use this class as a stepping stone, learn the process, and then create your own, beautiful butterflies;-) )
